#27813 Making and Using High-Density Oligonucleotide Microarrays
PhD Course, June 7 - 25, 2004
A three week PhD course will be held from June 7 - 25, 2004 at Center for Biological Sequence Analysis, BioCentrum-DTU.
Aim:
The aim of the course is to provide the student with the ability to do DNA microarray experiments.
Contents:
The course will consist of lectures and laboratory exercises.
After an introduction to the theory behind the different types of microarrays the students will be split into teams (2-3 pers/team) and handed out a project. It may be possible to bring your own samples (contact: Hanne Jarmer).
- The first part of the course will be to design relevant probes and to make the array.
- The next part is to prepare the samples: 1. and 2. strand cDNA synthesis, in vitro transcription and labeling.
- The third part: Hybridization and detection.
- The final part of the course will be to analyse the data.
Course fee: DKK 3.000, covering course material and material for the laboratory exercises.
Curriculum: To be announced
Prerequisites: Advanced molecular biology (course #27231 or equivalent) and practical experience in working with DNA and RNA.
