Statement of Research Interests

I am interested in DNA structures, and their relation to bacterial chromatin. Currently, there are 3 main projects in progress:

1. Analysis of DNA structures in the context of complete genomes. We've finished "A DNA Structural Atlas of E.coli", and want to extend this work to a comparison of other microbial genomes (presently, there are more than 60 completely sequenced prokaryotic genomes).

2. Characterisation of DNA symmetry elements in terms of structural organisation and evolution of whole genomes.

3. DNA curvature and bacterial chromatin-associated proteins
