Welcome to my homepage
My name is Ulrik Nicolai de Lichtenberg and I am working as an assistant professor at the
Center for Biological Sequence Analysis (CBS). CBS is
located at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) and is
one of the largest Bioinformatics research group in Northern Europe, headed by Professor Søren Brunak.
I hold a M.Sc.-degree in Chemical Engineering from DTU, with one full year of coursework at the
University of Minnesota (Minneapolis, USA), as well as a
PhD in Bioinformatics, including a stay as a visiting researcher in Peer Bork's
group at the European Molecular
Biology Laboratory (EMBL) in Heidelberg, Germany.
My research evolves around the concept of Integrative Systems Biology - a type of data-driven research
in which models and experimental data are used to study molecular biology as systems, rather than as collections
of individual components. My group and I apply these principles to complex cellular systems, such as the
mitotic cell cycle. Details about my research can be found here, at our cell
cycle page or at the group
page.
Apart from details about me and my research, this page also contains a small collection of obscure research papers
that I have come across. Enjoy.
