It turned out that those people that did worst in the tests also significantly overestimated their own performance and ability. Not only were they unskilled, but their lack of skill also prevented them from realizing their own cluelessness. So, self confident people are either very skilled or very clueless...


Diurnal sleep depth changes in the king penguin (Aptenodytes patagonicus)

Summary: A French scientist sneaked up on Penguins while they were asleep and poked them with a stick untill they woke up. He found that he had to poke penguins more times in the afternoon compared to in the morning. The paper thus reports the conclusion that "penguins sleep more deeply in the afternoon". I'm glad we got that straightened out...


Chickens prefer beautiful humans

Summary: Sweden moves to the forefront of international research with this milestone publication which reveals that chickens can be trained to prefer people that are generally considered (by Swedish students) to be good looking. That suggests that Swedes and chickens have the same sexual preferences. It does, however, remain unclear whether Swedes prefer beautiful chickens...


Strange and funny beliefs

DNA Activation: The absurd idea that you can somehow magically chance your DNA by looking at pictures or listening to music. Ultimately, this should lead to you becoming some kind of super god. The man behind it is called Robert V. Gerard, who wrote the book "change your DNA, change your life". If you are danish, you should definately check out the hilarious "DNA Denmark" site, where they claim that your DNA is able to communicate with the DNA in rocks and crystals (that donīt have DNA).
