Unskilled and Unaware of It: How Difficulties in Recognizing One's Own Incompetence Lead to Inflated Self-Assessments
by Justin Kruger and David Dunning
in Journal of Personality and Social Psychology [article] [further reading]
Summary: The authors interviewed people who had just taken various tests
of humor, grammar and logic. It turned out that those people that did worst in the tests also
significantly overestimated their own performance and ability. Not only were they unskilled, but their
lack of skill also prevented them from realizing their own cluelessness. So, self confident people are

Strange and funny beliefs
DNA Activation: The absurd idea that you can somehow magically chance your DNA
by looking at pictures or listening to music. Ultimately, this should lead to you becoming some kind of
super god. The man behind it is called Robert V. Gerard, who wrote the book "change your DNA, change your
life". If you are danish, you should definately check out the hilarious "DNA Denmark" site, where they
claim that your DNA is able to communicate with the DNA in rocks and crystals (that donīt have DNA).
